The most natural way to make money under the sun - Use your roof and generate an income for years to come with a Schueco solar system from Thermseal. Proven in use all over Europe, our solar panel systems harness the power supplied free by the sun to light your home, run your appliances and heat your hot water.
There are two types of Solar PV System available:
Known within the industry as photovoltaic (PV) systems, our Solar Electricity Systems utilise photovoltaic cells mounted in modules, usually on the roof, to convert daylight into electricity that can be used to power lights and appliances throughout your home.
More about Solar Electricity Systems
PV systems use mono-crystalline or polycrystalline photovoltaic cells that do not require bright sunlight to generate power - daylight alone will suffice. This makes them particularly suitable for installation in the UK. The PV cells in the modules draw energy from the sun, which is then converted into DC current. This passes to an inverter that changes the electric current from DC to AC, after which it is fed into your home's ordinary mains supply. Surplus energy that is not used is passed automatically to the National Grid. In ordinary use, a Schueco PV system from Thermseal is virtually maintenance free and you will have the pleasure of watching your savings mount up using the system's built-in meter. Once the system has been installed, you will find that in the summer months almost all the electricity you use will be generated by the PV panels. In the winter, you may need to draw slightly more often on your conventional energy provider, but overall you will find that your bills are a fraction of what they were. So you'll be able to run all your appliances and enjoy the comfort of a warm house without having to worry about the cost. What's more, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that your lifestyle isn't harming the planet or contributing to levels of CO2.
Using solar panels to draw power from the sun a solar hot water system will, on average, provide 50% of your hot-water needs throughout the year, completely free of charge.
More about Solar Hot Water Systems
A sealed circuit containing a special antifreeze liquid solution transfers heat collected from the solar panels directly to a twin-coil hot-water cylinder by means of a pump. The panels ensure efficient heat transfer by means of clear lowiron glass (providing a high degree of light transmission) and the Sunselect absorber coating. Every system is supplied complete with all necessary elements such as solar hot-water cylinders and electronic fittings. This 'one-stop-shop' approach means that all the components fit together perfectly and are hydraulically matched. A Thermseal solar hot-water system requires almost no regular maintenance - just sit back and enjoy the immediate reduction in your energy bills! Nowadays, we all take hot water for granted but heating water is an energy-intensive operation which can hit your pocket pretty hard. Similarly, conventional generation of electricity involves the production of large quantities of CO2 which is seen as a major cause of climate change. By installing a Schueco solar hot water system from Thermseal, you can address both these issues at once. On average, a system will provide 50% of your annual hot-water needs without causing any pollution. And the government's RHI scheme provides an attractive financial incentive, making your investment even more worthwhile.
The government is encouraging the use of non-polluting energy through two incentive schemes:
All Thermseal solar systems qualify for payments from these schemes.
If you have a system retrofitted to your home the FiT will pay you 43.3p* for every kilowatt hour of solar energy that your system produces. (To put this in context, energy companies usually sell electricity to domestic customers at between 10p and 13p per kWh.) In addition, it will pay you 3.1p* for every kilowatt hour that you don't use and that the system automatically feeds back into the National Grid.
The level of incentive payments under the RHI scheme is still being calculated by government. However, a premium payment of £300 a unit has already been agreed for 'early adopters' and this will be followed by the regular incentive payments from October 2012.
Both FiT and RHI payments attract no tax and will continue for 25 and 20 years respectively; what's more, because they are index linked, they will retain their value whatever the rate of inflation over that period.
Add these payments to the savings you'll make on your normal monthly electricity bill and the annual return on your investment is estimated to be between 8% and 12%, giving a combined total up to as much as £1,814** when installed on a 4+ bedroom home.
Energy prices are set to rise steeply over the next few years, outstripping inflation and weighing heavily on household budgets. By investing in a solar system from Thermseal you can largely safeguard yourself against these increases.
Assuming that there is no problem with access, the whole installation process should take no more than three days. We will arrange for all necessary associated works such as the erection of scaffolding and will ensure that once the work has been completed, your property is left clean and tidy.
The cost of a Schueco solar system from Thermseal will naturally depend upon its size and that will, in turn, depend upon the size of your property. The table below indicates the savings you are likely to make and the returns you are guaranteed to receive. One thing is clear however: money spent on a solar system from Thermseal is money well spent.
| Property Size | System Size (kWp) | Annual Electricity Generation | Annual income | Annual Fuel Bill Savings | Total Over 25 Years |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 bed | 6 panel (1.0) | 901 kWh | £397 | £84 | £12,038 |
| 1-2 bed | 8 panel (1.4) | 1261 kWh | £556 | £118 | £16,853 |
| 2-3 bed | 12 panel (2.1) | 1892 kWh | £834 | £177 | £25,279 |
| 3-4 bed | 18 panel (3.2) | 2883 kWh | £1,270 | £270 | £38,521 |
| 3+ bed | 24 panel (4.2) | 3784 kWh | £1,459 | £355 | £45,356 |
